Vape basics
What is a vape or electronic cigarette?
A vape or electronic cigarette is a device that heats a designated liquid or material to produce an aerosol for inhalation. Models and liquids differ, so follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
What is the difference between a pod, tank and disposable?
A pod uses a cartridge, a tank uses a reservoir and coil, and a disposable is designed for limited use according to its manufacturer. The choice depends on maintenance, size, refilling and replacement-part availability.
What is the difference between a cartridge and a coil?
A cartridge holds the liquid and may include the coil. The coil is the heating part that vaporizes the liquid. Some devices replace the whole cartridge, while others use separate coils.
What do MTL, RDL and DTL mean?
MTL means mouth-to-lung, RDL means restricted direct-to-lung, and DTL means direct-to-lung. The device, power, resistance and liquid should match the intended style.
What does coil resistance mean?
Resistance is measured in ohms and affects power, vapor volume and inhale style. Use the manufacturer’s recommended power range and choose a compatible coil, not one based only on appearance.
What are PG and VG?
PG and VG are common components of e-liquids. Their ratio affects inhale feel and liquid thickness. Choose a ratio suitable for the device and follow the manufacturer’s label.
Choosing a device
How do I choose a first pod or device?
Choose by inhale style, simplicity, battery size, cartridge type and replacement availability. If unsure, contact VapePoint with your experience and preferences; there is no single device for everyone.
Compatibility
How do I find the correct replacement cartridge?
Match a replacement cartridge to the device’s exact model, not just a similar image or name. Check the product page or manufacturer instructions, and ask support if the model is unknown.
Which e-liquid is compatible with my device?
Liquid compatibility depends on the device, resistance and intended use. Check the manufacturer’s PG/VG range and recommendations; if unclear, ask before filling.
Are heated-tobacco sticks compatible with vape devices?
Not generally. Heated-tobacco sticks, heated-tobacco devices and vapes are different systems. Use only products the manufacturer lists for the exact model, and never insert a stick or foreign material into a pod or tank.
Can I use any hookah accessory with my hookah?
Hookah-accessory compatibility depends on the model, measurements and connection. Check the product specifications or send support the hookah model and a connection photo before buying a replacement.
Filling and maintenance
How do I fill a pod safely?
Open the correct fill port, do not exceed the mark, avoid the central airflow tube and close the pod securely. With a new pod, wait several minutes after the first fill before taking a draw so the cotton inside the coil does not burn. With later refills of the same pod, no waiting is needed because the cotton is already soaked with e-liquid.
Why must a new pod or coil be primed?
Priming lets the absorbent material become saturated before heating. Using it too soon can create a burnt taste. Fill it and follow the product or manufacturer’s waiting instructions.
How should I clean a pod device?
Wipe liquid from contacts and the exterior with a dry or slightly damp cloth as allowed by the manufacturer. Do not wash the device body or put liquid into the charging port.
When should I replace a pod or coil?
Replace it when there is a persistent burnt taste, a clear drop in vapor or flavor, recurring leaks after cleaning and refitting, or physical damage. Frequency varies with use and liquid.
Troubleshooting
Why does my vape taste burnt?
Check the liquid level, straight installation and priming time. If the burnt taste continues, the cartridge or coil may need replacing. Do not continue using a damaged device.
Why is my pod leaking?
Wipe the contacts, check for overfilling and damaged seals, reinstall the cartridge straight and store the device upright. If leaking continues or there is damage, stop using it and contact support.
Why does my device not fire or draw?
Check the charge, clean contacts, cartridge installation and model compatibility. Do not open or modify a battery. If it still does not work, contact support with the model and symptoms.
Nicotine information
What is the difference between nicotine salt and freebase?
Nicotine salt usually comes in higher nicotine strengths and is commonly used in small pod devices that feel more like a cigarette. Its formulation is designed to deliver a higher nicotine concentration with a smoother throat sensation. Regular freebase liquids usually have lower nicotine strengths and are commonly used in larger devices, where a larger draw can provide the desired amount of nicotine. Always follow the product label and device compatibility guidance.
Safety and switching
What should I do if nicotine makes me feel unwell?
Dizziness, nausea, headache or irritation can have different causes. Stop using the product if you feel unwell, and seek medical care for significant, persistent or concerning symptoms.
Who should not use nicotine products?
Nicotine products are not for minors, non-smokers or pregnancy. If you have a medical condition, take medication or are unsure whether to use them, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
How should I protect children and pets from e-liquid?
Keep liquids and devices closed, labelled and out of reach of children and pets. If liquid is swallowed or reaches the eyes or skin, seek immediate medical or poison-control guidance.
When should I seek medical help?
Chest pain, shortness of breath, wheezing, fainting, persistent vomiting or another severe symptom requires stopping use and seeking medical care. In an emergency, contact emergency services immediately.
Battery safety
How should I charge a vape safely?
Use the cable, charger and power source recommended by the manufacturer. Charge on a stable visible surface away from heat and flammables, unplug when finished, and never charge a damaged, hot or swollen device.
How should I handle a removable vape battery?
Use the battery and charger specified by the manufacturer. Do not carry a loose battery with keys or coins, and do not use one with a torn wrap, moisture, unusual heat or swelling.
What should I do if a device becomes hot, swollen or damaged?
Stop using and charging it immediately, keep it away from flammable materials and do not open it. If there is smoke, an unusual smell or immediate danger, move away and contact the appropriate emergency service.
Smoking alternatives
What are nicotine pouches and how do I use them?
A nicotine pouch is another smoking alternative. Its main advantages are ease of use and discreet use, with no smoke or vapour. Place it between the lip and gum according to the manufacturer’s label. Do not swallow or share it, do not exceed the label instructions, and keep it away from children.
What is the difference between natural and quick-light hookah charcoal?
Natural coals, often made from coconut shells, need a separate heat source and more preparation time, but usually provide steadier heat and a longer burn. Quick-light coals contain ignition additives, light faster and are more convenient without a burner, but may affect flavour and produce more ash. Fully light either type, use suitable ventilation and follow the product instructions.
What are the main parts of a vaporizer?
Most vaporizers contain a battery, button or temperature control, heating chamber, heating element, air path and mouthpiece. Some models also have a display, screens and removable parts for cleaning or replacement. Parts vary by model, so check the manual and choose spare parts for the exact device.
What basic information should I check before using a CBD or cannabis accessory?
Check the product label, compatibility, cleaning instructions and manufacturer warnings. An accessory does not establish a medical effect or legal status for a substance; do not use an unlabelled or damaged product.
How should I approach CBD inhalation dosage?
There is no single CBD dose that suits everyone. This is general information, not a medical dose: start with a few short draws, wait 5-10 minutes before taking more, and remember that effects may continue to build after that. If the product instructions mention up to 10 inhalations, do not take them all at once; increase gradually according to the label, and ask a qualified professional about medical conditions or medicines.
